Mrs Trudie Bowman Apperson, 90, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday morning at Forsyth Medical Center. She was a wonderful sister and best friend. Mrs. Apperson was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Lawsonville, to John G. and Jettie Hester Rogers Mabe. She was a member of Pine Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Apperson was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Bowman; and her second hudband, Wallace Gray Apperson. Surviving are three sisters, Eva Mabe Tesh of Lexington, Dorothea Mabe Howard of Ricmond, Va., and Lois Mabe Sell of Winston-Salem; a brother, James Dewey Mabe of Phoenix, Ariz.; four stepchildren, Mark Gray Apperson, Richard J. Apperson, both of Winston-Salem, Roxeanne Apperson of Pompano Beach, Fla., Melandia B. Apperson of Bedford, Ind.; and two stepgrandchildren. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Vogler's Main Street Chapel.
