Buna- Graveside service for Nita Ferrell Walters Wellman, 93, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks, Louisiana from 11 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

Nita was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends-especially her church family. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church in Buna, Texas. She loved to read and enjoyed "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" on a daily basis. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She dearly loved the place at Buna and her family on the "west side" of the Sabine River.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Joe Wellman and wife, Sylva; two daughters, Linda Medina and husband, Carlos, and Ginger O'Malley; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Nita is preceded in death by her parents, Arcay and Lillie Walters and Bertie W. Wellman; two daughters, Georgia Sue Wellman and Kay Wilbanks; two brothers, Milton Walters and Raymond Walters; two sisters, Iris Flowers and Norma Jean Eddy; one grandson, Chad Spangler; and one son-in-law, John O'Malley.
