Mary Lou Barnard, 80, of Sawyer, Michigan, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 at Riveridge Manor, Niles, MI.
Mrs. Barnard was born April 5, 1929 in Tuscola, Ill, to Frank R. & Mary Agnes DeHart.
She was very active in her church. She was a Sunday school teacher, Women's Bible Study leader, children's choir leader, and youth leader. She was also a Girl Scout leader and a homemaker. Mary Lou had lived in the area since 1985, coming from Chicago, Ill.
On July 24, 1948, in Campaign, IL, Mary Lou married Bruce H. Barnard, who survives. Also surviving is son, Stephen H. (Norma) Barnard of Plainfield, IL; daughters, Suzanne (Richard) Smith of Chicago,IL, Sandra Lee (Wayne) Gustafson of Granger, IN, Sheryl Ann (David) Arnold of Clarendon Hills, IL; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
