Dr. John S Puzauskas, 67 of West Fourth Street, Oswego, N.Y., died Saturday in the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late John and Madalenga Shupskinskas Puzauskas.
He was valedictorian of the Kingston High School Class of 1942 and a graduate of Syracuse University and the Syracuse University Medical School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Sampson Naval Base in New York State.
Dr. Puzauskas moved to Oswego in 1953 to open his own medical practice, retiring seven years ago. He was a physician for the Oswego City School District and formerly was the physician for the campus school at the State University College, Oswego, and for 40 years was the physician for the Oswego Speedway.
He was a member of the courtesy staff of Oswego Hospital and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Caruso, Oswego; daughter, Cynthia Wertz, Atlanta, Ga; sons; John, Tempe, Ariz; Paul, Chandelor, Ariz; brother, Alfred Bradley, Kingston; sister, Theresa Mitchell, Elmira, N.Y.; three grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be 4 p.m. today in St. Joseph's Church.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contibutions may be made to the Oswego City School District where a scholarship fund will be established.
