transferred to Captain Reed's Battery, promoted to Captain.

Son of Jesse Callaway, a Sergeant in the War of 1812.
Grandson of Joseph and Mary (Morgan) Callaway, Revolutionary War patriots of Virginia.

Married 1) Eliza Hinton in 1850, d/o Fielding and Mary (Wootten) Hinton.
Married 2) Georgia Ficklen in 1868, d/o Dr. Fielding & Frances (Wingfield) Ficklen.
