Helen Virginia Yung, age 91, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She was born in 1914, at Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Gertrude Lillian (Baylor) Appleby. She wasa member of a pioneer Washington County family.

She attended the University of Arkansas where she, with her three sisters, was a member of Chi Omega sorority, and earned a bachelor?s degree in home economics.

She and Paul Young Jr. were married September 28, 1937, they were the parents of four sons.

She was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church, a member of various Circles of the United Methodist Women.

She was active in civic organizations including Chapter S, PEO.

She enjoyed playing bridge, playing golf and entertaining her many friends and family members.

Helen Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles A. Young; a brother, John Tate Appleby; and two sisters, Marion Manlove and Mildred Mitchell.

She is survived by three sons, Paul Young III (and his wife, Angela), Thomas C. Young and Robert S. Young; a sister, Annis A. Fogleman; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2006 at Moore?s Chapel in Fayetteville.

A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2006 at Central United Methodist Church with the Reverand J. Anthony Holifield and the Reverand Gary B. Lunsford officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, in the Young Family Plot

Pallbearers are Hayden McIlroy, Robert G. Whitfield, Kenneth B. Ball, D. Malcolm McNair Jr., Scott Lunsford and Gumbo Madison.

The honorary pallbearer will be Clarence H. Young.
