Rose is survived by her four daughters, a son, a son-in-law, 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Tiger Butte, Mont., to Harry and Martha (Melch) Dennis. She was raised in Stockett and graduated from eighth grade at the Selstrom School in the Stockett area.
She married David W. Back on Dec. 24, 1939. She worked on the family ranch until her husband's death March 28, 1960. She then went to work outside the home, holding a variety of jobs. She retired from cooking at the Centerville Senior Citizens Center on her 80th birthday.
Rose was an active member of the Home Demonstration Club; she volunteered at Missouri River Manor and was voted Centerville's Senior Citizen of the Year.
She loved gardening and caring for all children. She loved playing board games with her dear friend, Lis, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; a son, Russell Back; a daughter, Martha Diacon; two grandsons; her brothers, Roy and David Dennis; her sisters, Leona Frank, Olive Kohut and June McLauchlin; and her dear friend, Lis Peterson.
