Melvin Hale, 79 of Levelland died Friday, December 11, 2009 in Levelland.
Born on January 22, 1930 to Coy Dennis and Velma Jewel Hale, he moved to Levelland in 1954 from Lubbock. He married Jo Corbell on June 25, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. He farmed in the Levelland from 1969 until 1979 at which time he retired and then went into the construction business. He retired in 1996. Melvin was a member of the 3rd and M Church of Christ in Levelland.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Hale of Levelland, Texas; two sons, Larry Hale and Mark Hale both of Levelland; two brothers, Thomas Hale of Eugene, Oregon; and Clarence Hale of Ft. Worth, Texas, a sister: Loraine Gentile, Sacramento, California, and four grandchildren; Craig Hale, Landon Hale, Leslie Hale, and Kerri Rivera and two great grandchildren; Eden Liv Rivera and Ian Rivera. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard Hale and a sister Laverne Powers.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.
