BENJAMIN NORTON
CORNELIA, GA. - Benjamin F. Norton, 94, of Baldwin, Rt. 1, died Saturday afternoon in the Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa following an illness of five days.
Mr. Norton was born in Banks County, and lived there all of his life. He was a son of the late Lemuel and Nancy Reynolds Norton, was a farmer by occupation and a member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church.
His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Vaughn Norton, died in 1950.
Surviving are three sons, O. J. Norton of Watkinsville, R. H. Norton of Atlanta, and J. B. Norton, of Baldwin; three daughters, Mrs. Fort Chitwood of Canon, Mrs. F. D. Pressley and Mrs. Clyde Payne, of Atlanta; one brother,
J. P. Norton of Savannah.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday from the Tates Creek Baptist church with the Rev. James Turner and the Rev. Lester Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tom Woods, G. T. Wilbanks, Lee Banks, Charles Chitwood,Fletcher Norton, and J.P. Norton.
