Patricia Lynn "Patty" Heiman, 53, of rural Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Patricia was born November 26, 1956, at Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Conrad George and Rose Ellen (Cavanaugh) Heiman.

The family moved from Denver to a farm west of Iola in 1971. Patricia attended Iola High School and received her Associate of Arts degree from Allen County Community College. She continued her education at Wichita State University receiving her Bachelor's Of Art degrees in earth science, chemistry and biology.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Iola where she had also worked as the parttime secretary.

Survivors include two sisters, Laura Mead and Gail Laymon both of Iola, KS; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Heiman and Michelle Koopman.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Piqua, Kansas.

MEMORIAL MASS will be Friday, December 4, 2009, at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola, KS. The Reverend Robert Wachter will be celebrant.

Memorials suggested to the Patricia Lynn Heiman Memorial Fund. Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, KS, which is in charge of arrangements.
