GEORGE WRIGHT
George Wright, son of Zera and Eliza Safford Wright, was born August 14, 1837, in Willoughby, Ohio, and died peacefully at his home in Warren township, Lucas county, Iowa, on Feb. 4, 1932, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 21 days.
When a child, he moved with his parents to Berrien county, Michigan, where he lived until 1871. He spent a year in Des Moines county, Iowa, coming to Lucas county early in 1872, purchasing the farm near Derby, where he has lived continuously for 60 years.
On January 25, 1872, he was united in marriage to Antoinette Boss at Northfield, Des Moines county, Iowa. To this union were born five children, Arthur M., who died in infancy; Delia M., who died March 11, 1906; Lucien G., who died January 18, 1908; Mrs. Nellie Miller, of Yakima, Wash.; and Gene, on the home place, who, with his family, has lived with and cared for the deceased since the death of his wife in March, 1910.
He became a member of the Masonic Order while a young man in Berrien county, Mich.
He has lived a long, honorable life, enjoying the love, confidence and respect of his family and many friends. He lived at peace with the world.
Services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home in Chariton on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 6, 1932, and were conducted by Rev. Harry Secor. Interment was at the Derby cemetery.
