Surviving are her husband, Dr. John R. Kenney, superintendent of the Fresno District of Methodist Churches, and their daughter, Mary Sue Kenney. The Kenneys had been married for more than 25 years.
Mrs. Kenney was born at Cathey's Valley. She had lived in this community all of her life and due to her pleasant and friendly personality numbered her friends by the score.
She also leaves her sisters, Mrs. Perle Day of Cathey's Valley and Mrs. Grace Bell of Murphy, N. C. and a brother, Irwin T. Cornett of Merced. Her other brothers, John R. Cornett and Ben W. Cornett preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at Ivers and Alcorn Mission chapel with the Rev. Bishop James C. Baker, of San Francisco, Bishop of California Area of Methodist churches officiating, Entombment will be in the Evergreen mausoleum.

Rites Are Planned for Merced Pastor's Wife
MERCED, July 1 - Final rites will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Ivers & Alcorn Chapel for Mrs. Virginia Cornett Kenney, 49, life long resident of Merced, who died yesterday in a local hospital.
Mrs. Kenney was a native of Cathay Valley. She is survived by her husband, John R. Kenney of Merced; a daughter, Miss Mary Sue Kenney of Merced; a brother, Irwin Cornett of Merced, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Day of Cathay Valley and Mrs. Grace Bell of North Carolina.
Bishop James C. Baker of Los Angeles will officiate. Bishop Baker is the head of the Methodist Church for the California area. Entombment will be in the Evergreen Mausoleum.
