DeQuincy-James J. Ashworth, 83, passed away December 7, 2009 at his daughter's residence.
He was a native of Starks and lived in DeQuincy for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ashworth; daughter, Sue Sonnier and husband Joe; step daughter, Carol Buxton; step-sons, Kirby Stanley, Dean Stanley, and Mark Stanley; brother, Virgil Ashworth; sisters, Lydia Fontenot, Hazel Gibson, Betty Accord, and Bonnie Clubb; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his son, James David Ashworth; step son, Jerry Gore and a step great grandchild.
His funeral will be at 2pm, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at The First United Pentecostal Church of Starks. The Rev. Greg Frazier will officiate. Burial will be at Doyle Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home.
