Hazel Ashworth Gibson, age 87, a lifelong resident of Starks, La., died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at her residence in Starks, La. She was a longtime faithful member of First Pentecostal Church for 87 years and served at one time as song leader and was the Sunday School Secretary for over 50 years. Church fund raisers were very important to Hazel and made pies for many years, with every dollar or profit going to the church.

She was the daughter of the late Asa Ashworth and the late Emma Drake Ashworth.

She is survived by her

Three Sisters, Sister-Lydia Fontenot of Orangeville, Texas Sister-Bonnie Clubb of Beaumont, Texas Sister-Betty Acord of Starks, La.

One Brother, Brother-Virgil Ashworth of Hawley, Texas

She was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband - W.O. "Bill" Gibson, 3 Brothers - Mack Ashworth, James Ashworth and Charles Ashworth. 2 Sisters - Opal Sabins and Edith Roberts.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2010 and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2010 at Starks First Pentecostal Church. Funeral service will be at Starks First Pentecostal Church at 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2010 with the Rev. Greg Frazier officiating. Interment will be at Fountain Cemetery in Starks, La.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her care givers, Brenda Gibson, Shelly Broussard and Marie Burnett. Mary LaFluer and Jennifer F., of Heart of Hospice. Also to Rev and Sister Frazier and the First Pentecostal Church Family.
