Another old settler gone - In the demise of Milo McGuffey we have lost a good citizen, friend and neighbor, who with patience and fortitude endured with us the trials and privations of the early days, and himself and good wife have reared a family to maturity consisting of one daughter and four sons, who for intelligence, thrift and progressiveness are an honor to themselves as well as their parrents living happily and enjoying the accumulations of their pleasant surroundings. Mr. McGuffey has been a rheumatic victim for several years and at times endured extreme suffering the termination of his life being the outcome. It is lamentable that at his age he should be taken on the advent of his enjoyment in the fruits his labors. We can not too deeply sympathize with his bereaved widow and family in the loss of a truly devoted husband and father and an honest man. - An Old Settler.
