Travis W. Griffin, Sr., 76, of Stephenville, Texas, a farmer/rancher and heavy equipment operator died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at a local nursing home. Graveside Services at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Smith Springs Cemetery with Rev. Weldon Branham officiating. Burial at Smith Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Lacy Funeral Home.
He was born on October 6, 1933, to the late Frances Uel and Lucy (Mefford) Griffin in Stephenville, Texas. He married Darlene Head on June 4, 1956, in Stephenville, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2006. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Travis W. Griffin, Jr., and wife, Stephanie, of Springtown; a sister Jenny Dorn of Granbury; 4 grandchildren, Cody Griffin, Austin, Griffin, Hunter Petsch, and Meridith Petsch; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers & sisters.
