Mr. W. Alton Babb, Sr., 89, formerly of 11795 Augusta Rd., husband of Bernice Page Babb, died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late W. Adger and Ruth Ridgeway Babb. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, retired owner and operator of Babb's Cash and Carry of Princeton and a veteran in the Navy, World War II.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are two sons, Waddy A. Babb and wife JoAnne and John R. Babb and wife Sue, both of Greenwood; one sister, Agnes Babb of Greenwood; two grandsons, Ty and Mat Babb; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel, Honea Path with the Rev. Dwaine Stanley officiating. Burial to follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 1450 Dunklin Bridge Road, Honea Path, SC 29654
The family will be at their respective homes.
