Patterson (died of war service in 1864) gave the first parcel of land for the Pleasant Hill and, with his father and mother John T. & Barbara Whitworth Patterson,and others, are buried there near Fendal's grave. Thir tombs are marked only by flagstones. Hard economic times after 1864 and later vandals left only unmarked stones.
