Mabel Gentry, 90, of 1605 N. Benedict died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born Oct. 27, 1902, in Marseilles to William F. and Bessie Kaufman Davis, she married Arthur E. Gentry in 1921 in Edelstein. He died Aug. 11, 1934. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanne Cox, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two granddaughters, June Doss of Elmore City, Okla., and Cecilia McFarland of Etna, Wyo.; and one nephew.
She was an underwriter for the Home Insurance Co. in Chicago and Peoria, retiring in 1958. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Weber Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Dutton will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
