In his book THE FOUNDING OF NEW ENGLAND, Orpha North Hart's grandson Ernest Flagg stated, "all accounts of Mrs. Hart agree that she was a strong, fine character, abounding in all Christian virtues; a loving wife and mother; a constant helper to the sick and needy and beloved and honored by the whole community in which she lived."
