Edward E. Bean, a veteran railroad man, died yesterday at his home, in this city, at the age of 71 years.
He was born in Carmel, Maine, but has been a resident of Portland for almost 50 years and for most of that time was in the employ of the Boston & Maine Railroad, the latter part of his life as baggage master. He retired about two years ago on account of ill health.
He was a member of Harmony Lodge of Masons of Gorham, Portland Lodge of Odd Fellows; and the Order of Railway Conductors.
He is survived by a wife, one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Jacobson, of South Portland, and four sons, Everett L., of South Portland, Frank L., of Gorham, Leroy D., and Wallace D., of Portland.

Original headstone was removed some time ago maybe even stolen. This new headstone was added by his grandson Bernard A Bean and family. The stone is made out of Ga marble.
