Mrs. Juanita Kemp, age 97 of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the Whitehall Nursing Center. Mrs. Kemp was born June 4, 1912 in Houston County, Texas. She was a member of the American Legion Post #134 and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Kemp had retired from Braniff Airlines where she had worked as an accountant with over 20 years of service. She had also worked for Butler Brothers and was a School Teacher.
Survivors include her niece B'Ann Beam and husband Bob, of Lancaster; nephews Larry Collier and wife Jackie, of Dallas and Dr. Tom Collier and wife Ann Marie, of Seattle, Wash.; great-nieces Kathryn Fulkerson and husband Matt, of Ind., Lindsey Collier, of Charleston, S. C., Carrie Collier, of Salt Lake City, Ut. and Elizabeth Hahn and husband Ken, of Seattle, Wash.; great-nephews Robert C. Beam, of Denton and John C. Beam, of Lancaster.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill Kemp in 1990; and brother John C. Collier in 2009. Funeral Services for Mrs. Juanita Kemp were held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Reggie Gregory officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #134, P. O. Box 724, Crockett, Texas 75835.
