First Marriage to Thomas Jefferson Crouch in 1825.

They had one son William D. Crouch 1826 - 1879 Myrtle Springs Texas.Great, Great grandmother was the daughter of Jacob Garrett, early political leader during the Texas colony. Delegate to the Conventions of 1832 and 1833.

Her brothers were William Garrett and Milton Garrett of San Augustine Co.

Her first husband, Spencer Crouch died, while still in the Arkansas Territory. She remarried Thomas Curl and had a second set of kids. They then, for whatever reason left everything and came to Texas, where her father Jacob Garrett and brothers William and Milton had already settled.

Her first husband, Spencer Crouch was an elected official in Arkansas and they seemed to be "well to do".

Her son, my great grandfather Albert Gallitan Crouch was put in charge of the Curl plantation after her second husband Thomas Curl died before the end of the Civil War.

Gravesite Details

This is not the original headstone but rather my Aunt Maurine Crouch McKinney purchased this current stone and had it placed there @ in 1960's. The original marker of Laurena and her second husband Thomas Curl was made of stones.
