Dr. Charles W. Folsom Buried Here, Monday
Charles W. Folsom, a native of Taylors Falls, who for the past 20 years has made his residence in St. Paul where he practiced as a chiropractor, died at his office at 1556 Selby Avenue in that city last Friday. Death was due to a heart attack.
Born here 66 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed H. Folsom, he grew to manhood in this community, was educated in the public schools and for several years was engaged in the newspaper business, first with his father at Taylors Falls, and later for himself at St. Croix Falls and owning and operating other papers throughout Minnesota.
He was united in marriage here to Miss Fannie Hobbs in 1894 and was preceded in death by his wife in 1938. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Judd of St. Paul and Mrs. Willis C. Payfer of Minneapolis; two sons, L. H. and G. W. Folsom, both of St. Paul; one sister, Mrs. Kate Seavey of this village, and a brother, Francis Folsom of New York, N. Y.
Funeral services were conducted last Monday from the Fred W. Johnson chapel in St. Paul, followed by burial in the family lot at Kahbakong cemetery north of the village.
Visitors at the Jessamine Chapter of the O.E.S. on Tuesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Thompson, Mrs. Flora Moore, and Miss DeWitt of St. Croix Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Nott of Merrill, Wisc. A delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Ione and Miss Catherine Hobbs.
