Nathaniel Lobe died early Tuesday morning, June 29, (1976), in Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 3 days. He was one of seven children of Gottlieb Lobe and his wife Wilhelmina Grosz. He was born on Nov 26, 1895 in Kulm, South Russia. He came with his parents to the United States in 1898. His parents lived near Ritzville awhile and then moved to farm southwest of Odessa.

On March 11, 1917 he was united in marriage to Barbara Uhrich. The couple had eleven children, two of whom died in infancy. The young couple lived with his mother for several years. After that they secured the Schaal farm where they lived until they retired to Odessa in 1950.

The last three and one half years he spent in the local nursing home. Besides the two children that died in their infancy, his parents, two sons, one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law preceded him in death. The deceased was a member of the UCC of Odessa.

Survived by his wife, Barbara Lobe, at the family home; four sons: Edwin Lobe of Odessa, Irvin Lobe of Wichita, KS; Eugene Lobe of Odessa and Don Lobe of Moses Lake; three daughters: Mrs Ednas Jones of Moses Lake; Helen (Mrs Mason Thaut) of Snohomish; and Babs (Mrs Bobby Schell) of Ritzville; one sister: Mrs Mary Speck of Odessa; 34 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Concluding services and vault interment were at the Odessa Cemetery, Strate Funeral Home in charge. (Odessa Record)
