Son of Grover Cleveland Younger and Tinna Clara Bell Pitts Younger. His biological father died in a yellow fever outbreak in Manila, Arkansas in late 1933 or early 1934. His mother re-married Mr. Hubert Glover.
George was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Pitts of Savannah and Clifton, Tennessee. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He served in the Navy in the Korean war, enlisting at the age of 17 with the permission of his mother. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (the Mighty O) He completed his High School education and some college under the GI Bill and married Martha Ann Parker in 1955. He was a faithful member of the Foote St. Church of Christ in Corinth, Ms. and served as minister at the Cypress Creek Church of Christ and the Essary Springs Church of Christ for many years. He was employed for over thirty years at Tyrone Hydraulics (Dana Corporation) in Corinth, Mississippi. He died in 2006 at the age of 72 from pneumonia, COPD and asbestosis.
