David L. Flatt was the son of Andrew Jackson and Martha Jane (Smith) Flatt. He married Lillian Ostella Reese in Johnson County, Texas on the 19th of May 1895. Together they raised three sons: Floyd Howard, Leonard Patrick, and Andrew Harrison; and two daughters: Ora Ola and Ruth.
