Christian Reist, "was born in Penn Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, November 13th, 1796. He came to Canada in 1826 and settled on a farm two miles east of Breslau where he died February 20th, 1875. He was married twice, first to Nancy Strieger, March 16th, 1830. She was born December 8th, 1797, and died in October, 1845. After her decease he was again married to Christina Eva Frögel, October 17th, 1848. She was born September 15th, 1815, and at present resides with her daughter, Mrs. Kurtz, at Shantz Station, about three miles east of Breslau. With the first wife there were two children"
