Fannie, as she was usually called, was the daughter of Jacob Sebold, of Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, and his wife, Hannah Drake Sebold.

She married Azariah H. Mathews on Jan. 11, 1812 in Hunterdon Co. They had six children: Maria in 1817; Jeremy in 1825; Hannah Ann in 1831; Phebe in 1833; John, whose birth year is unknown; and an unnamed infant. Her first three children all married into the Burroughs family of Hopewell Twp., Mercer Co., New Jersey.

Fannie was living with her husband in Ewing Twp., Mercer Co. in 1850, but he died four years later. She was found in Lambertville, Hunterdon Co. for the 1860 census. In 1870 she was living next door to her son-in-law, Moses Burroughs, in Hopewell Twp.
