Mr. Joshua H. Scarff, a well known citizen of Harford County, died at his residence at Pleasant Valley, Harford County, yesterday in his 73rd year. He was a large owner of real estate embracing Pleasant Valley and Sarah Furnace farms, and held a number of positions of trust having served as the president of the board of county commissioners and the board of school commissioners in Harford County and as president of Meredith Ford and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company since its organization. He was a member of the M.E. Church for 35 years. He was married to Elizabeth Gwynn Baldwin and leaves eight children one of them being Dr. J.H. Scarff of Baltimore.
