John J. Andrews (Ridgeley)

RIDGELEY, W.Va. - John Joseph "Jack" Andrews, 75, of Ridgeley, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at his residence.

Born Jan. 30, 1931, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna Pearl (Fraley) Andrews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, William "Bill" Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was a machinist for the railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a Catholic by faith, a member of the V.F.W. American Legion Post 13 and he enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving are his wife, Johann C. Andrews; four daughters, Pamela A. Twigg and husband Gregory, Fayetteville, N.C., Paula Wilson and friend Louis Wickard, Cumberland, Peggy Wagoner and husband David, Winchester, Va., and Penny Anwar and husband Najeeb, Winchester; two sons, John Joseph Andrews Jr. and wife Alexandria, Bedford, Pa., and James Charles Andrews and wife Sheila, Carpendale; five sisters, Anna Catherine Brant and husband Ken, Bowling Green, Janet Harman and husband Cliff, Cumberland, Helen Doyle and husband James, Frederick, Marion Dodrill and husband Ted, Sterling, and Jean Boone, Texas; one brother, Robert "Bob" Andrews and wife Doris, Cumberland; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (scarpellifh.com) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Leonard Smith officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone.

Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
