James Martin, Ill 10 Years, Died at Age 73

A resident of Warren, James E. Martin, 73, was dead on arrival at Huntington Hospital at 6:47 a.m. Sunday. He had been in failing health 10 years and death was attributed to a hear ailment.

Born Nov. 30, 1907 in Wells County, he was a son of John and Nancy E. Houdyshell[sic Howdyshell] Martin. He was married Nov. 23, 1929 at Huntington to Helen Drabenstot, who survives.

Mr. Martin, a member of the IOOF Lodge at Warren, had operated an automobile body and repair shop at Warren.

Surviving, in addition to the wife, are three sons, James W. Martin and John Martin, both of Warren Route 3, and Jerry Martin of Van Buren Route 1, and 12 grandchildren.

A brother, Vaughn Martin of Bellview, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Everett (Flossie) Huffman and Mrs. Anna Gross, both of Warren, also survive.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the H. Brown and Son Funeral Home at Warren, where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Donald Cunnington will officiate and burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
