When Dora Isabel Kiser was born about 1879, in Pendleton County, West Virginia, her father, William, was 43 and her mother, Mary, was 36.
She married Granvil Howard Bodkin on November 17, 1898, in Pendleton County, West Virginia. They had four children in 13 years. She and her husband managed a poorfarm in Pendleton Co, WV in the early 1900s and in 1920 she and Granvil moved their sons to McCoole, Maryland. They built a home and planted a large orchard/gardens. This house was later torn down to accommodate the widening of Route 220.
Soon after her husband died in 1941, she took in her 2nd son, Wm. Lon Bodkin and his son Stanley (aged 8). Lon's wife was hospitalized in Ohio. She died on August 12, 1967, in Keyser, West Virginia, at the age of 88.
