Mrs. Edlth Acuff, a former citlzen of Shawneetown, has passed from
earth to the great beyond. Her death occurred at Urbana, Saturday,
Dec. 23, 1922. The deceased was formerly Miss Edith Wood.
Mrs. Acuff spent twenty-seven years of her life In the school room.
In 1908 she went to Flora, where she taught two years. Last year
she went to Urbana to enter the state University to take advanced
studies in her noble profession. Mrs. Acuff was a devout member of the
Presbyterian church.
The body of the beloved teacher was brought back lo the old home
for burial. -- Shawneetown, Gleaner
