Mr. Ring served in the Navy from 1939 until retiring in 1961 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was an air traffic control specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration in Salina for 12 years.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Retired Enlisted Association, and Fleet Reserve Association.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; two sons, Paul D. and Henry J., three daughters, Judith Behrens, Dorothy Watkins, and Loretta Streit; three brothers, Raymond, Frank and Aaron; two sisters, Rose Bruna and Carol Hersing; and nine grandchildren.
