Sgt Jason A. McLeod of Crystal Lake, Illinois was born in Elgin to Gregory McLeod and Barb Hanke McLeod. In 2006 he graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School. On July 10, 2007, he was united in marriage to Aimee Rambo. He enjoyed football, hockey, RC cars, and working on cars. Survivors include his wife, Aimee McLeod; his daughter Jocelyn; his mother Barb McLeod; his father Gregory McLeod; his brother Justin and a sister Jacquee; his mother-in-law, Julie Ghannam; brothers-in-law, Andrew Graf and Daniel Escobar, his maternal grandmother Marion Hanke; paternal grandparents, Denny & Sandra Williams; paternal great grandparents Charlie and Mable Kariya; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends. He was killed at age 22 west of Pashmul, Afghanistan. He was deployed there in May of 2009 and would have ended his duty in the summer of 2010.
