Lamar Turner, 59, Dies at His Home

Funeral services were conducted at 10 am Friday, May 26, 1972, from Houston Funeral Home Chapel for B Lamar Turner, a well-known resident of Houston. He died at his home on North Jackson Street at approximately 2 pm Wednesday, May 24. He was 59.

The Rev. Howard Hathorn, pastor of First United Methodist Church of which Mr. Turner was a member, officiated. Interment was in the Houston Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Alexander, Bud Cother, Bill Beard, Jim Hugh Tabb, Clyde Walters, and Mack Priest.

Mr. Turner was born in Houlka, the son of Addie Roberts and T V Turner, S., and had resided in Chickasaw County all his life. At the time of his death he was a salesman for Southland Oil Company.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth Atkinson Turner of Houston, one daughter, Mrs. Jack Schuett of Atlanta, Ga., his mother, Mrs. Addie Turner of Houlka, one sister, Mrs. J C Kirby of Aberdeen, and two brothers, Emmitt Turner of Memphis and William Turner of Jamaica.
