Opal W. Chancy, age 87, passed away at her home in Wacissa, Florida November 30, 2008. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. EST Thursday, Dec. 4, at Wacissa United Methodist Church, in Wacissa, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Walker Family Cemetery. Beggs Funeral Home Monticello Chapel (850-997- 5612). Mrs. Chancy, was a native of Jefferson County and the daughter of the late T. H. Hushel Walker and Caddie Eva Grantham Walker. She was known for her very good cooking and candy making. Mrs. Chancy was a member of Cody Pentecostal Holiness Church. andtaught Sunday School, but lately had attended the Wacissa United Methodist Church. She attended school at Wacissa. Mrs. Chancy is survived by one brother, T. Butler Walker (Emily) of Monticello; two nephews, T.B. (Renee) Walker Jr., and John Floyd Walker of Monticello; a niece, Gwen Ownes of Pensacola, and many other nieces. nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Elijah Chancy.
