Michael Scott Motes, 41, of Rowell, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at his home.
Born November 5, 1963 in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Tommy L. Motes, Sr. and Jeanne Motes Matthews. Mr. Motes was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Jefferson Preperatory School in 1982. He attended Henderson State University and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and graduated from United States Jaycees Leadership Academy.
Mr. Motes was a Governmental Affairs Manager for the United States Jaycees and a self-employed cattle rancher.
He was a member of the Sherrill United Methodist Church, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Razorback Foundation, Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, and American Quarterhorse Association.
Mr. Motes was preceded in death by his close companion, Cynthia Dohm.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanne Matthews of Pine Bluff; father, Tommy L. Motes, Sr. of Pine Bluff; brother, Tommy Lee Motes, Jr. of Pine Bluff; and sister, Vicki Lynn Lowry of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Monday, December 6, 2004 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend W. P. Wooley and Brother Dean Dancer officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Annex Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 PM until service time.
