Aunt Becky never married but did have a child, a daughter she named Essie. She was known as a very loving and caring woman who helped other family members care for their children. For many years she lived with other family members and friends providing care for their children, cooking and helping with the housework. She lived for a period with family in Indian Territory/Oklahoma before returning to Arkansas. Her tombstone shows the spelling of her last name to be with a "u" but the obit shows a "w".

The following is the obituary for her as published in the Melbourne Times newspaper:

"Jan 29, 1948 – Rebecca Jane Lawrence was born September 6, 1871 and passed away January 25, 1948 at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 19 days.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs Essie Wagner of Melbourne; 1 granddaughter, Mrs Bonnie Hamer. Revs. Hamilton and Cooper conducted the service."
