Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Fruit Heights 2nd LDS Ward, 901 So Mountain Road, for Ramon Dayel Dean, 53, of 1382 Golden Circle, Fruit Heights, who died Tuesday, Feb 14 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following heart surgery.
MR. DEAN was born March 14, 1924 in Eureka, Utah, a son of Dayel and Sene Marie Newman Dean.
He was married to Kenna Evelyn White, Nov 5, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
HE WAS a High Priest in the LDS Church and a Sunday School teacher.
He graduated from Brigham Young University. He was a teacher of English and literature, where he taught at Kaysville Junior High School. He had taught at American Fork High School and Clearfield Job Corps. He had been a technical editor for Thiokol Corp. He was a writer and poet. Served two years in the United States Army. He was fingerprint specialist for FBI.
HE IS survived by his widow of Fruit Heights, sons and daughters, Dayel K Dean,
Lon A Dean, Salt Lake City; Michelle Dean, Oregon City, Ore; Tamalee Dean, Heidi Dean, Jana Marie Dean, all of Fruit Heights; Mrs. John (Melanie) Shumway of Salt lake City; Mrs Monte (Rebecca) Langford of Oregon City, Ore and Mrs Phil (Wendy) Murdock of Plain City, Utah, eight grandchildren.
Also four sisters and one brother, Mrs Ardella Zimmerman, Mrs Janice Peck, and Mrs Connie Powell, Lehi, Utah, Mrs Elaine Andersen, Sacramento, Calif and Blaine Adamson, Lehi.
