Funeral services for Adair Vogt Metts, 77, of Orangeburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg with the Rev. Patrick Latta and the Rev. Ralph "Pete" Lovern officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Edgemon, Tommy Douglas, Wayne Metts, Grady Robinson, Bruce Anderson and Rodney Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Debbie Knight Sunday School class.
Mrs. Metts died Sunday, Jan. 28, in Providence Hospital in Columbia.
She was born March 24, 1929, in Holly Hill, the daughter of Samuel Stull Vogt and the late Mamie Lou Vogt. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a member of the Debbie Knight Sunday School class. Mrs. Metts was a housewife and retired from Metts Grocery Store and F.L. Metts Furniture Store. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Vogt; and a sister, Anna Douglas.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin L. Metts Sr. of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Frankie L. and Melanie Metts, and Sammy Metts, all of Orangeburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Timothy Hartzog of Orangeburg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Flossie Jones of Orangeburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
