Rockford Register Star (IL) - Friday, December 19, 2003

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother SEWARD - Margaret A. Rittmeyer, 88, of Seward died early Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born March 9, 1915, in rural Winnebago, the daughter of Frank and Anna Alice (Elsperman) Pollard. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1933 and SwedishAmerican Hospital School of Nursing in 1936. Margaret married Wilford E. Rittmeyer on July 9, 1938, in her parents' home in rural Lindenwood. Always supporting her family, she was a 4-H leader for several years during her children's 4-H participation. Margaret also enjoyed providing private piano lessons to many of the area children. She was an active member of Seward Congregational Church and was organist for many years.

Surviving family: children, Charles (Joanne) Rittmeyer of Winnebago, Marcia (Joe) Moulden of Macomb, Glen (Joy) Rittmeyer of Rockford and Harlan (Roberta) Rittmeyer of Winnebago grandchildren, Gregory (Lisa) Rittmeyer, Randall (Dawn) Rittmeyer, Kevin (Sue) Rittmeyer, Ethan (Chris) Moulden, Josh Moulden, Kimberly (Mike) Nelson, Gavin (Laura) Rittmeyer and Matthew Rittmeyer and 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Wilford E. Rittmeyer Sept. 23, 1973 and brothers, Earl and Harry Pollard.

Service will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 20, in Seward Congregational Church, preceded by visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. The Rev. Ronald C. Farb will officiate. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established to Seward Congregational Church. The family was assisted by Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
