He father died while she was still young, leaving the wife with seven children, 2 sons and 5 dtrs, all now living. In 1836 she married Conklin B Howes, son of Joseph Howes of Southeast. Mr Howes died in Brewster Sept 07 1864, leaving one son Ward C Howes who is with Brokaw Bros in NYC. A few months after her husbands death, she moved to NYC, and with her sister Mrs William Smith, kept a boarding home in West Washington Square. Late in 1882, she went to Florida with her nephew Oliver M Crosby. When returning in 1883, to be with her son, she became ill with billious fever. In 1886 she went to sister in laws, Mrs Charles E Jackson of Bedford Station, where she became paralysed, and stayed under sister in laws care until Feb 29 1888 when she passed.
