Lula was married on November 17, 1906 to Garnett Earl Gee and they were divorced on November 1, 1926. Garnett is the father of Lula's three children. Lula remarried and is the widow of Leslie Burns who died on April 10, 1971.
Besides her brother, John Chaplin, in Mattoon, she leaves two daughters, Evelyn Higgins of Milwaukee and Mildred Higgins of Orange, CA; a son, Roy Donald Gee of Milwaukee; and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
