Anton Janek, 79, Dies in Abbott Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Anton Janek, 79, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at Abbott Catholic Church. Rev. W. Pechal officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold-Moore Chapel in West. Mr. Janek died at his home in Abbott Friday.
Mr. Janek was born in Czechoslovakia and came to this community at the age of 3. He was a retired farmer. His wife died in 1946.
Surviving are four sons, Frank Janek of West, Charlie Janek of Schulenburg, Albin Janek of Waco, and Lewis Janek of Japan; one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Divin of Kaufman; two brothers, Frank Janek of Flatonia and Albin Janek of Floresville; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Matula and Mrs. Joe Matula of Corpus Christi; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The pallbearers were Florian Rejcek, Floyd Smajstrla, Ben Matula, Charlie Halata, Jerry Janek and Adolph Mashek.
