Corbin Callahan, 90, Westport, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 1993 in the Columbus Convalescent Center in Columbus, Ind.

He was born March 28, 1903 in Leslie Colunty, Kentucky, the son of Isaac and Rachel Lewis Callahan. Raised in Kentucky, he lived in Viper, Ky., until 1960 when he moved to Westport. He had been a coal miner in Kentucky and was a farmer in Indiana.

On Aug. 18, 1934, he married Raney Stacy in Leslie County, Kentucky, and she survives, a patient in the Columbus Convalescent Center; with seven sons, Leonard Callahan, Viper, Ky., Johnnie Callahan, Greensburg, Corbin "Jerry" Jr., Isaac and Harold Callahan, all three of Westport, Coolie Callahan, Jacksonville, Mo., and James "Jim" Callahan, North Vernon, Ind.; five daughters, Emily Brancamp and Rachel Moffett, both of Greensburg, Berniece Vanderphol, Laurel, Ind., Rosie Pratt, Viper, Ky., and Vada Tucker, Osgood, Ind.; one sister, May Maggard, Kentucky; 37 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, two brothers, two granddaughters, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

The Rev. David A. Scaggs will officiate the services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bass and Gasper Funeral Home, Westport.

Burial will be in the Union Flat Rock Cemetery, Ripley County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the charity of the donor's choice.
