Mary Jane Martin was born in Ireland to Edward and Julia Martin. She immigrated to the United States in 1842 with her parents. She married Alexander Lawson 22-May-1860 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. She had seven children and sometime after 1870 moved from Detroit to Eaton County, Michigan where her youngest child was born. Mary Jane died 04-Dec-1914 in Eaton Co., Michigan.
