Alexander Lawson was the son of James Lawson and Margaret Kyd and was born in Scotland. Alexander immigrated to the United States in 1853 with his parents. He married Mary Jane Martin 22-May-1860 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. He was a blacksmith and sometime after 1870 moved from Detroit to Eaton County, Michigan. Alexander and Mary had seven children. There he died in 1923 at 89 years.
