Vernon L. Sherwood, 91, of South Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009.
Vernon retired after 21 years of service from the US Army, serving in both WWII and the Korean War and later worked and retired from Mercy Hospital.
Vernon attended Bible Temple Family Worship Center of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie; son, Karl Sherwood and daughter, Bertha Ruth Sherwood.
Vernon is survived by sons, Charles (Sharon) and Dwight (Sandi) Sherwood; daughters, Cora (Keith) Howland, June Sherwood, Judy (Dave) Howland and Norma Sherwood.
Vernon also had many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Tuesday, November 17th, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
